FAQs
About the Process
-
We'll start with a brief check-in to see how you're doing and what you'd like to work on. Then we'll use CBT techniques to identify patterns and develop practical strategies.
After that, we'll use focused hypnosis to help you practice these new responses in a calm, receptive state.
Sessions are collaborative, you're an active participant throughout. We'll end by discussing what to practice between sessions. The whole process is designed to help you feel more capable and confident in your daily life.
-
Sessions typically last 50-60 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and what you’d like to change, we can plan an initial amount of sessions and review as we go.
We'll discuss this during your initial consultation and review progress regularly.
The aim is steady, practical progress.
-
You don't need to prepare anything extensive. It can be helpful to think about what you'd like to change or what's getting in the way, but don't worry if you're not sure yet.
As sessions are online, make sure you have a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted, and test your internet connection beforehand.
Wear comfortable clothes and come with any questions you have. That's it, there's no pressure to prepare anything specific.
-
Between sessions, you'll practice simple tools and exercises we've discussed. This might include noticing unhelpful patterns, trying new responses, or practicing self-hypnosis techniques. The goal is to make new responses feel more natural over time.
You're not expected to be perfect, just willing to try. Progress happens through consistent practice, and we'll adjust the approach based on what's working for you.

The initial 15-minute call is totally free, and after that sessions cost £75.
About CBT + Hynotherapy Combination
-
CBT gives you practical tools and strategies you can use immediately, ways to recognise and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior.
Hynotherapy helps you practice and integrate these new patterns at a deeper level, making them more automatic and accessible when you need them.
Research shows that combining CBT with hynotherapy can improve outcomes compared to CBT alone. It's the difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it when stress hits. The combination addresses both conscious understanding and deeper integration, creating more lasting change.
-
No prior experience is needed. Many people come to this work with no background in hypnotherapy.
I'll guide you through everything step by step. It's normal to feel unsure or curious at first, that's completely fine. We'll work at your pace, and you can ask questions at any time.
The approach is designed to be accessible, whether you're new to therapy or have experience with other approaches.

Research shows online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions. Privacy and confidentiality are maintained to the same professional standards. You'll need a device with a camera, a quiet private space, and a stable internet connection.

That's completely normal, and the initial consultation is a chance to explore whether this approach is a good fit. We'll discuss what you'd like to change, how the process works, and answer any questions you have.
There's no pressure or commitment beyond this initial conversation. It's about finding what works for you, and if this isn't the right approach, we can discuss alternatives. Many people find the consultation itself helpful in clarifying what they want.
About Hynotherapy (Myth-Busting)
-
No, it's completely different. Stage hypnosis is entertainment designed for an audience.
In therapy, hypnotherapy is a state of focused attention and deep relaxation, similar to meditation or being absorbed in a good book. You're always in control, fully aware, and can speak or move at any time. It's a collaborative process where we work together to help you access a calm, receptive state.
-
Yes, you'll remember everything. Hypnotherapy isn't like being unconscious or asleep, you remain aware throughout.
Some people feel very relaxed and may not remember every detail immediately, but your awareness remains. You can think, speak, and choose to come out of the relaxed state at any time. It's a natural state of focused attention, not a loss of consciousness.
-
Most people can access a hypnotic state, it’s a natural ability we all have. The most important aspect is your motivation, willingness to change and ability to focus. If you can relax and focus your attention, you can benefit from hypnotherapy. If you struggle with this, then, don’t worry, it is a learnable skill that we will support you to develop.
Still have questions?
